GH TED Talk

And so my Genius Hour project comes to a close! I learned so much that I am excited to apply to my everyday life and my teaching style. This assignment pulled me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to explore how I adjust to new situations that frighten me. I hope that as I develop my technological skills I will gain the confidence I need to share the resources I have been exposed to with my future students! There is a whole world of digital tools out there!
I apologize that the video is slightly crooked, I didn't realize that had happened until I had filmed everything. Also I had to film in my attic because I couldn't find a quiet place. Welcome to the life of a child of twelve :)

  1. Hi Bernadette!

First off, amazing job! You can really tell how genuine and passionate you are on your topic. I watched your movie trailer last week in class and I was so excited to watch your final TED talk presentation! I can't wait to see the final edited product.

This topic is so interesting and applicable to our generation as music plays such a large role in our day to day lives. I have tried classical music while studying and I always seemed to be distracted as well! I thoroughly enjoyed how you created your own research study and found positive results to your genius hour question. Your presentation is a great tool for us not only as current students but as future educators to hopefully bring these mnemonics into our classrooms!

I don't have much to say about how you could improve your presentation other than maybe try and sequence your clips a little more fluently or try and combine your clips into one go at your ideas rather multiple clips but other than that it was awesome!

    Thanks for the tips!!

I loved watching your Ted talk. You explained what you were researching and your research goal well. I had a teacher who encouraged our class to study with music. If you don't mind I may pass this video on to her!
I have tried studying with music and often find my body moving without me noticing. I think when my brain hears music , it assumes it is time to dance. I think I am going to try studying with music again. The passion that you exuded in your Ted talk was contagious! Good job :)
